Tulum is one of the few places on the Riviera Maya that still retains it’s primitive quality. The town has a supermarket, several drug stores and fruit marts as well as a variety of wonderful restaurants. The beach is sublime, with powdery soft sand, crystal blue waters and scrumptious restaurants. The beaches are open to all, yet there are no high-rise hotels, so no crowds to avoid. One of the great wonders of Mayan civilization, the Tulum ruins should not be missed. Walk through this ancient Mayan city built on a cliff overlooking the sea; it is spectacular!
